Fasta is a running coach for iPhone and Apple Watch. This page says what the app handles, and what leaves your phone.

On your phone and watch

Your plan, your paces, and your finished runs stay on the device. You can train with no account. Deleting the app removes that on-device copy.

Apple Health

Fasta reads workouts already in Apple Health so a run recorded somewhere else can count toward the plan. During a coached run it reads heart rate. When a run ends, Fasta saves the workout, including the route, back to Apple Health.

Those workouts stay in Health. Deleting a Fasta account does not delete them. You control this access in the Health app and in Settings.

Location

During a run, Fasta uses your location to record pace and the route. If you allow it, that continues while the phone is locked. Fasta does not collect location when you are not recording a run.

Optional account

Sign in with Apple, or with email, is optional. It exists so the plan can follow you to a new phone. If you sign in, Fasta stores a copy of the name and email the sign-in provides, your plan, your distance unit, and your finished runs, including their routes. That copy is kept on a server operated for Fasta.

Signing out leaves the copy in place. Delete Account, in You, removes it. The plan on the phone stays. Runs already in Apple Health stay.

Coach Reid

A question you ask Coach Reid, and the plan facts needed to answer it, are sent to Fasta's server so a reply can be written. The conversation is not saved as part of your account. The reply may be written by a model provider, and a question about training science may search a short list of sports-science journals. Don't send medical details you would not want processed that way. Coach Reid is not a doctor.

What Fasta does not do

Fasta does not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps.

Children

Fasta is not directed at children under 13.

Questions about this policy go to the support email on the Fasta page in the App Store. To remove the copy kept for a new phone, open Fasta, go to You, and tap Delete Account.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
